Charles Goodmacher

Our Do Good LLC founder, Charles Goodmacher brings his lifetime of professional experience (thirty years in New Mexico) working in a variety of positions to participate in the healing and repair of our broken world. 

He started his professional career as an economic analyst for the Office of Management and Budget, City of New York. He then worked with non-profit issue education and advocacy groups on the west coast and for the last thirty years in New Mexico. Charles’ varied experiences include five years as legislative analyst for the New Mexico House Majority Leader, during which he served three of those years as Senior Majority Analyst. He also served as co-director of the New Mexico Legislative Campaign Committee, and as political director or campaign manager for  numerous federal, state, and local political campaigns. Charles earned his BA in History from Reed College. He earned a MA in Urban Affairs and Policy Analysis from the New School for Social Research.

Immediately prior to forming Do Good LLC, Charles was the Government and Media Relations Director for the National Education Association—New Mexico where he also served the national union on teams developing and delivering professional development for fellow staff and leaders across the nation. Securing employee rights and negotiating collective bargaining agreements grounded Charles in the lived experiences of educators in every corner of New Mexico. He led year-round membership campaigns and successfully wrote grants and earned a Certificate in Organizational Effectiveness. Charles facilitated community organizing workshops and represented members in negotiations and personnel matters in diverse New Mexico communities including Hobbs , Aztec, Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Roswell, Espanola, Las Cruces and Silver City.

Do Good LLC is a results-driven consulting firm that helps clients solve critical public policy issues. We help create and execute culturally relevant and values-centered issue campaigns, media relations, policy research and analysis, and direct lobbying and advocacy.
